How to Reach the Gridarta and Crossfire Communities

2026-10-26

Dear map makers and developers,

(intended audience: map makers and developers using Gridarta, especially for
Crossfire)

The "How to help" page on this website has been updated with the places where
Gridarta users and developers can actually be reached today.

For Gridarta itself:

1. The gridarta-devel mailing list (https://sourceforge.net/p/gridarta/mailman/)
is the place for questions, bug reports, feature requests and patches.
2. The IRC channel #gridarta on irc.libera.chat.

NOTE: creating tickets in the SourceForge bug and feature request trackers
needs authorization from the project admin, so if you are not a project member
(which is most of you), please use the mailing list instead.

For Crossfire map makers, the Crossfire community channels are also a good
place to ask about the editor (and about mapping in general):

1. The Crossfire IRC channel #crossfire on Libera.Chat
   (https://crossfire.real-time.com/irc/).
2. The Crossfire Discord channel, which is bridged to the IRC channel, so you
   can use whichever you prefer
   (https://crossfire.real-time.com/discord/index.html).
3. The Crossfire mailing list
   (http://mailman.metalforge.org/mailman/listinfo/crossfire), best for longer
   discussions.

The old contact points (the Daimonin Mantis tracker, the Daimonin forums and
personal mail addresses of former developers) are no longer used, and the
website does not list them anymore.
