Jenkins Build Script Works Again
2026-10-27
Dear developers, (intended audience: developers and anyone running a build server for Gridarta) The continuous integration script build-jenkins.sh works again. The old version still expected the Subversion layout (cd trunk) and called the installApp task, which Gradle removed long ago. What changed: 1. The build runs inside the Docker build environment (build-setup and build-run), so the build server needs Docker but no particular Java version. It runs "clean" first, then installDist, check, preparePublish and the Javadoc. 2. For safety the script refuses to run as root or as a system account (user ID below 1000), and it does not pass an SSH agent into the container. 3. The Javadoc build is clean: the "cannot read build/javadoc-options" error is fixed, and so are the nine "bad use of '>'" warnings. A full run on a test machine ended with BUILD SUCCESSFUL. "Continuous Integration (Jenkins)" in INSTALL describes how to set up the build server account and which results to archive: the editor jars, the JUnit and Checkstyle reports, and the Javadoc. -- Rick Tanner (leaf) gridarta-devel mailing list: https://sourceforge.net/p/gridarta/mailman/
